Gems & Live gifts
A guide for parents and guardians. Live gifts are rolling out gradually and are off until you choose to turn them on for your child.
What are Gems?
Gems let your child send a small gift during a Creator’s Live, as a way of showing appreciation for content they enjoy. Gems are not money. Your child can’t cash them out, swap them or send them to another child. Gifts are never a prize, a game of chance or a contest, and InClasso doesn’t rank who sends the most.
Who can buy Gems?
Only a linked parent or guardian. Your child never enters card or payment details, and never sees a checkout. If they run low, they can send you a request. You can add Gems or decline. The request carries no message and no amount, so there’s nothing for them to push for.
InClasso staff can’t turn gifts on for your child or buy Gems for them. Staff can only turn gifts off, for example while looking into a concern.
What limits are there?
- A monthly purchase cap. By default, up to 1,000 Gems can be bought for a child each calendar month, across the website, Google Play and the App Store combined. You can lower it. The platform maximum is 10,000 Gems a month.
- Gift limits for ages 13–17. At most 50 Gems in one gift, 100 a day and 300 a week. You can set lower limits, but not higher ones. Premium (the largest) gifts are off for under-18s.
- Under 13. Paid gifts are not available. Children under 13 can send free reactions only.
What do other people see?
When your child sends a gift, the Creator and everyone watching see “A fan sent 🌈 Rainbow Wave”. They never see your child’s name, photo, age, school or account. Creators see totals only, never who sent what.
Will I know when a gift is sent?
Yes. For routine gifts you choose between a notice every time and a daily summary. The summary only ever covers routine gifts your child sends and your child reaching their daily or weekly gift limit. These always reach you straight away:
- Gem purchases: completed, pending or failed
- Refunds and chargebacks, and a card dispute won with Gems restored
- Gifts of 50 Gems or more
- Your child asking you for Gems
- A purchase waiting for you to choose which child gets the Gems
- InClasso pausing your child’s gifting, reversing a gift they sent, crediting a re-checked purchase, or correcting their Gem balance
- A report that someone pressured your child to send gifts
Notices show your child’s first name, the Gems and what happened. They don’t name the Creator or the Live, or show money amounts. Every gift and every purchase is listed in your child’s gift history.
What about refunds?
Refunds follow the rules of the store you paid through (the website, Google Play or the App Store). When a Gem purchase is refunded, InClasso takes back any of those Gems your child hasn’t used. Gifts already sent with them are reversed, so the Creator doesn’t keep money from a refunded purchase.
A Creator’s share of a gift is held for 14 days before it can be paid out, which leaves time for refunds to be processed.
How do I turn gifts off?
Open your child in the Parent area, choose Gems & Gifts, and switch off Allow virtual gifts. It takes effect straight away. Unused Gems stay in your child’s balance and can’t be spent until you turn gifts back on.
A Creator asked my child to send gifts. What should I do?
Creators must never ask for, pressure or reward gifts. That includes offering a follow, a shout-out or private contact in exchange. Report the Live and choose Pressure to send gifts, or email safety@inclasso.com. Our safety team reviews every report.
