Delete Your InClasso Account
You can permanently delete your InClasso account and personal data at any time — directly in the app, on the web, or by asking our support team. This page explains each option, what is erased, what we are legally required to retain, and how long it takes.
1. Delete your account in the InClasso app
The fastest way to delete your account is directly inside the InClasso mobile app (iOS or Android). You stay in control of the whole process — no email to support needed.
- 1Open the InClasso app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- 2Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete Account.
- 3Review the summary shown on screen — it lists exactly what will be erased from your account (for example your posts, videos and notifications) and the small set of records we must retain by law.
- 4Enter your account password to confirm it is really you, optionally tell us why you are leaving, then tap Send confirmation.
- 5Check your email inbox for a message titled “InClasso — Confirm Account Deletion Request” and tap the confirmation link. The link is valid for 72 hours. Nothing is deleted until you click it.
- 6Once confirmed, deletion is queued and processed automatically — typically within 24 hours, and always within 30 days as required by GDPR Art. 12(3). You receive a final confirmation email when it is complete.
Changed your mind? You can cancel the deletion request from the same screen (Settings → Privacy → Delete Account) at any time before processing starts — as long as the request is still awaiting email confirmation or queued. Once processing begins, deletion cannot be stopped or undone.
2. Delete your account on the web
The same self-service deletion is available in the InClasso web app at inclasso.com:
- 1Sign in to your account.
- 2Go to Settings → Privacy and choose Request account deletion.
- 3Confirm with your password, then click the confirmation link we email to you (valid 72 hours).
- 4Deletion is processed automatically — typically within 24 hours, always within 30 days.
You can also download a copy of your data first: Settings → Privacy → Download my data produces a machine-readable (JSON) export of the personal data we hold for you (GDPR Art. 20).
3. Request deletion via support (no sign-in required)
If you cannot sign in — for example you lost access to the account or the device — you can ask us to delete the account for you:
- Submit a request through our support page: https://www.inclasso.com/support
- Email privacy@inclasso.com with the subject line “Account deletion request” from the email address registered to the account.
- For a child's account, email parents@inclasso.com.
To protect against fraudulent requests we must verify your identity before processing an emailed request — we may ask you to confirm details only the account holder would know. We never ask for passwords, full ID numbers, or payment card details by email. Verified support requests are processed on the same timeline: typically within 24 hours, always within 30 days, with a confirmation email when complete.
4. Deleting a child's account (parents & guardians)
Children under 13 cannot delete their own account. For safety and COPPA compliance, the app blocks self-service deletion for under-13 youth accounts — a parent or legal guardian must request it.
How a parent or guardian deletes a linked child account
- 1Sign in to your own InClasso parent/guardian account.
- 2Open the deletion flow for your linked child account (Settings → Privacy, or via the support page).
- 3Confirm your identity with your parent account password and the last 4 digits of the phone number registered on your parent profile.
- 4Confirm via the email we send you. The child's account and associated personal data are then permanently erased on the standard timeline.
If you do not have a linked parent account, or no phone number is on file, contact parents@inclasso.com and we will verify your identity another way. Parents can also review the data held about their child, or withdraw consent for further processing, at any time — see our Privacy Policy.
5. What gets deleted
When your confirmed deletion request is processed, the following happens to your personal data:
Your account and profile
- Your name, email address and profile are permanently anonymized: the account email is replaced with an untraceable erased address, your name is replaced with “[erased]”, your password is randomized, and the account is deactivated so no one can ever sign in to it again.
- Profile photos, uploaded documents and other files stored for your account are permanently deleted from our file storage.
- Login sessions, registered devices, push-notification tokens, biometric credentials, OAuth connections and single-sign-on sessions are deleted.
Your content and activity
- Youth accounts: posts, photos, videos, audio, learning progress, achievements, portfolios, contacts and screen-time data are permanently deleted through our COPPA child-data deletion process.
- Videos you uploaded, your notifications and notification preferences are deleted.
- Teacher accounts: credential records and uploaded verification documents are deleted (including files in storage). Parent accounts: identity-verification documents are deleted.
- Independent Teacher accounts: independent classes and the Independent Teacher profile are deleted, and any active Stripe subscriptions are cancelled.
- Likes, blocks, mutes and gamification records (badges, points, leaderboard entries) are deleted. Comments and discussion posts you wrote are kept but permanently unattributed — your name and account link are removed.
Our service providers
- Email provider (SendGrid): your contact is deleted and your address is added to a global suppression list so you never receive email from us again.
- Error monitoring (Sentry): we request deletion of any stored data tied to your email through Sentry’s GDPR deletion API.
- Payment processing (Stripe): we never store card numbers — see “What we retain” below for transaction records.
6. What we retain, and why
A small set of records cannot be fully deleted, or must be kept for a fixed period, because of legal obligations or the way shared content works. Before you confirm, the app shows you this list. Nothing retained can be linked back to you by other users.
Pseudonymized (descriptions redacted, direct identifiers stripped), never deleted — retained for 7 years from the transaction date to satisfy statutory accounting and tax obligations (GDPR Art. 17(3)(b)).
Kept with hashed identifiers only — no name, email, IP address or user agent. Used solely for security auditing and abuse prevention.
The text of comments and discussion posts is retained so conversations stay readable for others, but every link to your account is permanently removed (shown without attribution).
If you were an Independent Teacher, your email address may be retained after deletion solely to avoid charging a verification fee twice and to prevent fraud (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object and have this record removed: email privacy@inclasso.com.
If your data is subject to an active legal hold (for example, pending legal claims), deletion is blocked and the request is refused until the hold is released — we will tell you if this applies.
In rare cases an administrator may formally refuse a deletion request under GDPR Art. 17(3) — for example a statutory retention duty or the defense of legal claims. If that happens you are notified by email with the exact legal basis, and all data not covered by the exception is still erased. You may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
7. How long it takes
You receive a confirmation email within minutes.
The confirmation link expires after 72 hours. Nothing is deleted before you click it — if you do nothing, the request simply lapses.
After confirmation, deletion runs automatically. GDPR Art. 12(3) requires completion within 30 days — that is our guaranteed maximum, not the norm.
You receive a final email confirming the account and personal data have been erased.
You can check the status of a pending request at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy → Delete Account.
